Rob Smith 

Rob Smith is an exciting dynamic British photographer who over the last ten years has developed a consistently strong body of work.  His images while never staged, have a strict emphasis on 'seeing' over production techniques, Smith is interested in the documenting of the social landscape and interaction of a subjective narrative. Recent photographs depicting anonymous locations in the United States and London feature a duality of isolated and displaced individuals, seemingly disconnected from previous lives. Smith’s intuitive eye and ability to reappraise the familiar,results in work of great emphatic appeal. Each photograph is underlined by his characteristic subtle understanding of colour and spatial contrasts.
